Historie Dobrušky
Zmínky o Dobrušce sahají do roku 1320, kdy na křižovatce obchodních cest vznikla osada Lešno, které bylo později po svých pánech přejmenováno na Dobrušku. V první písemné zprávě - Mutina z Dobrušky v ní stvrzuje měšťanům právo vařit pivo a osvobozuje je od robotní povinnosti. Plnohodnotná městská byla udělena až v roce 1364. Největší rozvoj města byl od 15. do 17. století díky majitelům Opočenského panství. V roce 1565 bylo město zasaženo velkým požárem a na spáleništi bylo vybudováno město v renesančním stylu s dominantní radnicí. V 17. století byl rozvoj města zastaven třicetiletou válkou. V 18. a 19. století byla Dobruška podorlickým centrem národního obrození. Toto období proslavil F.L.Hek (F.L.Věk). Ke konci 19. století zde vznikaly kulturní, vzdělávací, tělovýchovné kluby a ochotnické divadlo. V tomto období zde také vznikl místní průmysl. Město Dobruška má v současné době asi 6700 obyvatel, sídlí zde řada firem, průmyslových závodů a škol. Krásnému centru města vévodí renesanční radnice z 2. poloviny 16. století.
History of Dobruska
Dobruska was first mentioned in year 1320, by when a settlement called Lesno had
came into being at a crossing of trade routes. Lesno was later renamed to
Dobruska, according local nobels. The first written mention comes from Mutina of Dobruska, states the right of Dobruska`s citizens to brew beer and frees them from
compulsory work. The full status of town is granted in 1364. The greatest growth
took place during 15th through 17th century, thanks to the owners of nearby
Opocno domain. In 1565 the town was suffered a great fire, after which it was
reconstructed in Renaissance style. The reconstruction lead to an iconic town
hall. In 17th century the growth stagnated due to the Thirty Years` War. In 18th and
19th centuries Dobruska was one of centers of "národní obrození - the
national revival" (a cultural
movement, trying to put czech language before german). This period of Dobruska`s
history was made well-known by writer F. L. Hek (also known as F. L. Vek). By the end of 19th century many cultural and educational facilities, as well as
local industry came into existence. Today Dobruska has population of roughly
6700 residents. There are several companies, industrial plants and schools. The most
iconic part of the town is before mentioned town hall, which stands in a
beautiful downtown square.
